Principal, Beverly Shannon

My name is Beverly Shannon and I serve in a dual role and one is District Lead Counselor. This is my thirty-seventh year as a certified educator and the last twenty-nine years have been spent serving the students of Hooks High School. The first seven years were spent serving students in the St Louis, Missouri area. I have worked large districts and I have worked in a small district. I have had the experience of serving in one of the top three richest school districts in a state as well as the experience of serving in one of the poorest districts in a state. I have experienced the exhilaration of working in a school to achieve Blue Ribbon status and I have experienced the dismay of my campus being rated Unacceptable. Above all, I have experienced the sweet success of being part of a staff that turned around an Unacceptable rating to that of Recognized in one year.

I have served as District and campus 504 Coordinator, Campus testing coordinator, master scheduling on my campus as well as the other campuses, PEIMS as it relates to funding staff assignments and student services, Career and Technology Education (CTE), Pregnancy Related Services (PRS), Gifted and Talented (GT), Campus and District Improvement Committees, Curriculum, DMAC systems, Data System parameters maintenance, and Parent Involvement.

On a personal note, I have one daughter, Cicely. She has been my favorite student of all time. Because of being her mother, I have been able to share and nurture my students academically and emotionally in ways that would not have been possible.
